Key days and recommended practices include:

  • The First Nine Days: Fasting is a highly recommended (Sunnah) act of worship during the first nine days.

  • Day of Arafah: The ninth day is the holiest day of the year. Fasting on this day is especially virtuous and is said to expiate the sins of the previous and coming year. Pilgrims in Makkah gather on the plain of Mount Arafah to pray for forgiveness on this day.

  • Eid al-Adha: The tenth day marks the start of Eid al-Adha, the "Festival of the Sacrifice," which lasts for four days (until the 13th of Dhul…
